Superstar Rajnikanth is back to home
After spending over six weeks (one and half month) in Singapore for treatment of kidney-related ailments, Tamil superstar Rajinikanth is back in Chennai.
“Boss is back” was the much-repeated slogan among fans at the Chennai airport on Wednesday night. The actor was accompanied by his wife Latha Rajinikanth and two daughters – Aishwarya and Soundarya.
The family wanted to keep this arrival a secret. But the fans were all excited to receive him at the airport. Festoons, banners and posters have been put up by the actor’s fans along the roads leading to the airport. The actor had a few words with his fans while accepting the wishes of others by waving his hands at them.
It is said that he may rest at his Padappai farm house for some days before returning home.
On May 13, he was admitted to the Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre in Chennai with fever and fluid retention following acute gastro-intestinal and respiratory problems. He was discharged from hospital May 28. At the Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, Rajinikanth underwent advanced treatment, including hemodialysis.
Rajinikanth was earlier admitted to St. Isabel Hospital April 29 after a bout of vomiting, and was discharged in the evening. On May 5, he was again admitted to the ICU of St. Isabel Hospital after allergic bronchitis and fever.
He was flown to Singapore in the last week of May for treatment of reported kidney-related ailments.
The South Superstar is expected to resume shooting for the movie Rana, produced by Ochre Studios headed by his daughter Soundarya.
Bollywood star Deepika Padukone is cast opposite him in the movie directed by K S Ravikumar.
