City schools switch to ICSE, students hit
MUMBAI: The state education department's eagerness to introduce board exams for Standard IV students last year had one unexpected fallout — several schools in the city decided to move over to the ICSE board.
In the last one year, four schools, including G.D. Somani, New Era High School and Hindi Vidya Bhavan, have made the switch.
However, observers allege that some schools are trying to get ICSE affiliation as it is fashionable and also translates into better money''.
Parents of children studying at the S.K. Jain School at Marine Lines are among those who have been hit by the decision to switch to ICSE.
