Guinness World Records | Most participants in a Fingerprint test

This wonderful record attempt was held on February 26th, 2011 in the Mall of Indonesia, Jakarta. The multinational dairy company Frisian Flag broke the record “Most participants in a Fingerprint test”. The participants of the record attempt were children from ages 1 to 6.

They were brought in from schools at different regions in Jakarta, riding on busses with their families since 09:00 in the morning.

The record area had 6 different zones:

1) Registration counter where children had to sign up.

2) Blue zone where children were waiting with their families after registration.

3) Red zone where consultants informed families about the details of the attempt.

4) Record zone where two people used clickers to count everybody who entered the zone and wrote their names into a logbook.

In addition, there were two more people who assigned numbers to the participants. In the record zone, Notary Mrs. Karin Christiana Basoeki, SH with her two assistants and the Supervisor of North Jakarta, Department of Education Dr. Gun Supriyang, MM stood as witnesses.

There was also a playground for children where magicians entertained kids and played with them plus a consulting and seminar room where families could get personal information from consultants about the test results.

In the Record zone there were tables from 1 to 50. On each table, you could find a laptop, a printer and a fingerprint scanner. Plus, a fingerprint expert was assigned for each table.

Before the record attempt started, there was first a wishing good luck ceremony with a traditional dish called “Tumpeng”. Everybody wished good luck and prayed before the record attempt started.

The attempt started exactly at 10:14 am. According to Guinness World Records guidelines, they were given 8 hours.

The participants were taken into the Record zone in groups of 50. All 10 fingerprints were taken from each participant as a rule

Then, the results were printed and handed to the parents. These could join the seminar to get additional information about the fingerprints if they desired, but there were also consultants who analyzed the results in the consultant room.

Three people were assigned to count the participants who left the Record zone. One of them was using a clicker to count the people who leave. The other was entering the names and numbers of the participants in a logbook while the third one was typing the numbers of the participants that leave on a laptop. This laptop was connected to a huge screen that was placed in the Record zone, where everybody could see the number of participants as minutes passed by. The attempt ended at 16:41 pm. .

Later came the certificate ceremony on stage. Everybody celebrated and applauded this beautiful moment for minutes. Previously, the record had belonged to the Palembang city in Indonesia, with 1,281 people. However, with this organization, the Frisian Flag company in Jakarta became the new holder of this record with exactly 3,108 participants.
